Samsung officially announced on December 30 that the company would discount its Symbian support service from December 31, 2010, as part of strategy decisions in order to overtake Nokia's dominance within three years, the chinabyte.com reported on December 30. Through emails, the message was delivered to Samsung's Symbian phone developers on December 30 and the Symbian Lab for developers was already shut down in October 2010, according to the same source. Samsung stated that the Symbian forum and content related to the operating system will be removed on December 30 and December 31, respectively. Instead, Samsung will focus on the development of Smartphones based on Android, Windows Mobile, and Bada, Samsung's own-developed open operating systems, in the upcoming 2011. Samsung stated that Samsung Windows Phone 7 Smartphones' share will shoulder 63% of the company's total Smartphone shipment in 2011.
